You want to improve the appearance of your skin and get a more refreshed look but can’t take several days out of your life to recover.  What can you do?  Well, have no fear, as you can reverse the clock with these quick non-surgical rejuvenation procedures.

1. Botox®

Botox® relaxes the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles so the skin appears smoother.  Keep in mind that although Botox® injections are a relatively quick procedure, it can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect of Botox®.

2. Fillers

Injectable dermal fillers are used to soften prominent facial folds, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and add volume to areas where volume has been lost to bring back a more youthful appearance.  Dermal fillers are often referred to as the “liquid facelift” because they can provide some benefits of a surgical facelift without the downtime.  There are various fillers available on the market so consult with your dermatologist to determine which is the best for you.

3. Superficial Chemical Peels

Superficial chemical peels use a chemical to gently exfoliate and remove the outer layer of skin.  They can be used for acne, fine lines and wrinkles, photodamaged skin, melasma and hyperpigmentation, and mild scars.  They can help improve the overall skin texture and tone resulting in a brighter more youthful complexion.

4. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion uses an exfoliating material, such as crystals or diamond flakes, to gently remove the outer layer of the skin.  It can help treat fine line and wrinkles, photodamaged skin, enlarged pores, acne, and superficial scars.  Similar to chemical peels, the gentle exfoliation provided by microdermabrasion renews the skin resulting in a more youthful complexion.

5. Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis utilizes a short-pulsed 1064 nm laser to rejuvenate the skin.  This laser treatment can reduce redness, improve the appearance of wrinkles and scars and shrink enlarged pores.

6. IPL Photofacial

Intense pulsed light is broad-spectrum light that can be used to reduce the appearance of redness, age spots and freckles, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles.

Although these quick procedures can be done over your lunch-break with no significant downtime, you may experience some redness, swelling, peeling or bruising afterwards depending on the procedure.  These effects are usually mild and can be covered with makeup and you should be able to resume your normal activities immediately.   Also keep in mind that for some of these treatments your dermatologist might recommend a series of treatments to achieve your goals.
